Carnelian Drop-Bead Necklace

This 24 inch long stunner is made from huge carnelian nugget beads and Indian chalcedony.  Carnelian is actually a form of chalcedony, so the stones look beautiful together.  They are accented by Indian pot-metal beads and Bali sterling silver.  This is a very substantial necklace, not for the faint-of-heart!

Somali Copal Amber & Venetian Millefiore Trade Beads

This fabulous trade bead mix also includes brass baule beads, turquoise, coral, and a wonderful brass fish charm.   The necklace is 18 inches long, excluding the central stack of beads

Ethiopian Telsum Bead Necklace

This necklace is handcrafted primarily from antique African trade beads.  It is approximately 18 inches long and contains 1800s Venetian whiteheart trade beads from West Africa, pipestone from Ghana (also called bauxite, although some people say these are different materials~~I don’t know), red and white striped Bohemian trade beads also traded in West Africa.  The center-pieces are older Telsum amulets, handmade in Ethiopia.  The  wire, hook, and chain are all sterling silver.  This necklace is a one-of-a-kind original.

Wodaabe-Style Glass & Brass Necklace

This 16 inch necklace is a replica of the festival necklaces worn by men and women of the Wodaabe tribe in Central Niger, Nigeria, and Cameroun.  Many strands of beads are piled on for the Yaake dance, during which a young man competes to woo the woman of his choice.  Hours go into the grooming rituals prior to the event.  Brass rings accent the strung e beads.  The clasp is gold-filled

Baule Bead Bracelet

These flat brass beads are from the Baule (also spelled Baoule) people of the Ivory coast.  They are paired here with vintage
